The trek to the Kashmir Great Lakes Trek offers a lifetime experience of vintage memories that are so wonderfully tiring. The thundering silence of the Kashmir lakes and its virgin beauty is spell bound. Apart from the lakes, even the barren milky snow clad mountains stand out in might and proud....

Day: 1: Arrive at Srinagar (1730 m)

On arrival Trek-valley tours representative will welcome you at the airport (or the Tourist Reception Centre if you travelled overland) and transferred to the houseboat/hotel for your overnight stay. There will be an afternoon Shikara ride on Dal Lake.

Day: 2: To Sonamarg (2720m) 3 - 4 hours drive

After breakfast start the beautiful picturesque drive from Srinagar to Sonamarg which takes around 3 - 4hrs, on the way we descend through dense forest, past Gujar villages and terraced rice fields, to the road head at Sumbal (2130m). After a couple of hours drive along the Sind River we arrive at Sonamarg, which locally means the (meadow of Gold) in Sonamarg we can have a small visit Thajwas glacier and overnight stay camping at sonmarg

Day: 3: To Nichinai (3300m )

A short descent through a pine forest brings us to a steel bridge over the Sindh River. From here we climb steeply to Shkoder, a great vantage point for a picturesque view of the Sindh Valley and glacier below. An undulating descent will bring us to our overnight camp at Nichinai.

Day: 4: To Vishansar (3680m)

We trek to the Nichinai Pass(4141 m) enjoying the mountinous panorama, and then descend towards the lakes of Vishansar and Krishansar, passing through colourful meadows and crossing streams.We camp just below Vishansar Lake for two nights.

Day: 6: To Gadsar Lake (3200m)

Today we begin with a steep ascent to the Beri-Pass (4100). The pass again offers great views of the Karakorum and Gadsar Lake. A gradual descent along the contour Gadsar Lake brings us to our overnight camp. Our camp is beside a pretty stream so we can reward ourselves with a swim in the beautiful cyrstal clear water.

Day: 7: To Mangandub via Dubta Pani (Satsar) (3800m)

We will have a fresh morning passing through wild-flower valley along with number of springs which will be an eye catching point. A slight climb through the meadow of flowers and camp for the night under twinkling stars with colourful flowers.

Day: 8: At Gangabal Lake (3600m)

We climb gradually to Postpatri (the valley of flowers) and reach the saddle at Mangandub. From here we climb steeply towards Zagibal Peak (4600m). The climb is tough but worth it for the tremendous views of the Gangabal Lakes and Hurmukh Peak. A long zig zag descent brings us to astream crossing followed by a short climb to our camp for a night at Gangabal Lakes.

Day: 9: To Naranag - Srinagar

Today, we will leave Gangabal and trek towards Naranag via Trunkhol. We will take the route and cross through meadows of Budpathri, Trunkhol and descend from Butsheri to reach Naranag. From Naranag, we shall take a car ride for Srinagar. Overnight stay will be at houseboat/Hotel.

Day: 10: Depart Srinagar

You will be transferred to the airport.
